Green upholstered sofa with a round coffee table and fresh flowers

A sofa takes more daily use than almost any other piece of furniture in the house, and it shows gradually rather than all at once — a slightly duller cushion colour, a general staleness that a vacuum on the surface doesn't fix. Upholstery cleaning treats the fabric itself, not just the surface dust, to bring worn furniture back closer to how it looked when it was new.

This service covers sofas, armchairs, dining chairs and other upholstered furniture, whether it's one item or a full living room suite. It's often booked alongside carpet cleaning, since both jobs use a similar approach and are commonly needed around the same time — before a big event, ahead of selling a home, or simply when furniture has reached the point where a vacuum alone isn't enough.

As with carpet cleaning, results depend on the fabric type, its age and how set-in any marks are. We'll assess the specific piece before starting and be clear about what's achievable, rather than promising a guaranteed result regardless of condition.

Why MirroClean

What stays consistent, visit to visit

Assessed before treatment, not guessed

We check the specific fabric and condition before starting, rather than applying the same process to every material.

Honest about what's achievable

Older stains or delicate fabrics may not come back to like-new condition, and we'll say so upfront rather than overpromise.

Pairs naturally with carpet cleaning

Often booked in the same visit, since both jobs use a similar deep-clean approach.

Careful handling

Cushions and covers are treated individually where it's safe to do so, rather than as one flat surface.

Service options

However often you need it

One-off treatment

A single deep clean, typically booked annually or before a specific event.

Paired with carpet cleaning

Commonly booked together in the same visit for a full soft-furnishings refresh.

Pricing

A price based on your property, not a flat rate

Pricing depends on the number and size of items, the fabric type, and their current condition. Request a quote and we'll confirm a price before booking.

FAQ

Questions worth asking before you book

Can all fabric types be cleaned the same way?

No — the approach depends on the specific fabric. Some materials handle a deeper wet treatment well, while delicate or specific fabrics need a gentler method. We'll check the fabric before starting and confirm the right approach.

Will upholstery cleaning remove pet odours?

It will generally help, since a lot of odour sits in the same fibres as general staleness and dust, but we won't promise complete odour elimination, since that depends on the cause and how deeply it's set in.

How long does the fabric take to dry?

This varies with the fabric and treatment method, but it's sensible to avoid heavy use of the furniture for several hours afterwards. We'll advise on timing before we finish.

Can you clean leather furniture?

Leather needs a different approach to fabric upholstery. Let us know if your furniture is leather when requesting a quote so we can confirm whether it's suitable for our current process.

Do you remove and wash cushion covers separately?

Where covers are removable and safe to treat this way, yes. Covers that are fitted or not designed to come off are cleaned in place along with the rest of the piece.

Is this available for offices as well as homes?

Yes, upholstered office seating and reception furniture can be included, usually as part of a broader office or commercial cleaning arrangement.

How often should upholstery be professionally cleaned?

Roughly once a year is a reasonable guide for average household use, though homes with pets, children or heavier use may benefit from more frequent treatment.
